The 23rd Wood from Finland

The 23rd Wood from Finland kicked off yesterday, featuring a wide range of speakers. The focus was on challenges such as geopolitical tensions (“what will come out of the Trump camp”), economic expectations (“1% GDP growth in the EU in 2025”), the structural lag in the development of the construction market with wood as a key future building material, the decline in globally available roundwood volumes with the US as the only growth market in this regard, EUDR, regional market expectations, and more.

The strong presentations provided us with a more positive outlook on market expectations compared to last year, which will probably have a visible short-term impact on our wood market.
